Programming
I remember when we used to do it with a soldering iron.

I've made my living from writing software for over 30 years. I've seen programming languages come and go and I've forgotten more of them than I care to remember.

Having said that I can definitely say that it's more fun now than it's ever been. Back in the early 1970s the turnaround time was unbelievable. You could code a program on Monday, submit it to be compiled on the Tuesday and by Friday you could have it back to check your syntax errors. These days I'd have it running live by the Wednesday.

I do find it very rewarding that with the power of modern processors and networking, with the complexity of available languages we can make these computers sing and dance in a very short time.

I didn't intend to use this web site to drum up business but, what the hell - if you need a programmer, I'm your man!
